Sergey Melnitchenko was born in Mykolaiv. He became interested in photography in 2009, and since 2010 he has been engaged in analog photography. Significant changes in his creativity took place in 2012, when he rethought his own approach to artistic practice and took a vector that he defines as conceptual photography. In recent years Sergey participated in more than 150 personal and group exhibitions, fairs and festivals around the world.
The photographer works in two directions – as an author, creating his own works, and also as a teacher and curator at the school of conceptual photography MYPH, which he founded and where he discovered many young talents. In his artistic activity, Sergey Melnitchenko works in completely different directions – from purely documentary photo series to complex conceptual projects combining fake documentation, 3D animation and drawing.
