Nadia Trofymenko

Nadia Trofymenko is the co-founder of the Garden Lovers Club, a community that brings together amateur and professional gardeners around the concept of modern natural gardens. She conducts educational courses and seminars and has collaborated with more than 150 leading Ukrainian and European designers and experts, including Gilles Clément, Sue Stewart-Smith, Iñigo Segurola, and others.

Her passion is landscape travel; she actively travels and organizes masterclasses and tours of gardens in Ukraine and Europe. Le Jardin Plume in France, Lur Garden in Spain, Karl Foerster’s Garden in Germany, and Ada Hofman’s Pond Gardens in the Netherlands are just a few of her favorite gardens. From her travels, she brings back not only impressions but also new approaches and solutions that shape her vision of the modern garden. She explores how different countries work with plants and space and how this experience can be adapted to the Ukrainian context.

On a picturesque 1-hectare plot near Kyiv, she and her husband are creating their own natural garden. There, they experiment with flavors, are building a collection of fruit trees and berry bushes, and are seeking out and growing unusual plants from seed—such as persimmon, asimina, jujube, edible chestnuts, cedar pines, and others.
